American Wirehair

Facts:
« Date of Origin ~
1966
« Place of Origin ~ United
States (New York)
« Came From ~ Farm Cat and
American Shorthair
Description:
The coat of the American Wirehair is its most
notable feature. It's hair is thinner than usual and bent, crimped
or hooked, thus it feels like steel wool to the touch. Ideally
the whiskers should also be curled, the curlier the better.
American Wirehairs are laid back and love to
be held. They have very prominent cheekbones and a well developed
muzzle. The only thing to watch for in this inquisitive breed
is that they can sometimes be bossy.
