Himalayan

Facts:
« Date of Origin ~ 1930
« Place of Origin ~ United States
« Came From ~ Persians and Siamese
Description:
Himalayan's (Himmy's for short) have a very long silky coat, and a short cobby
body. Basically they are a Persian with a pointed pattern. Himalayan's are
very
people oriented and love to be doing what ever it is that you are doing.
They are great helpers, or at least they think they are.
If you have ever been to a cat show and seen
a pointed Persian you were looking at a Himmy.
Think Twice If: You
do not have the time to devote to the care of their beautiful
coat. Their coats require daily grooming or else they become
matted. Breeders often bathe their Himmy's weekly. This is
why their coats look so wonderful.
Hereditary
Problems: Due to their flat nose sinus
and tear duct problems can occur. Liver problems can also be
an issue with the Himmy's.
