Description:
The Norwegian Forest Cat, were designed by Mother Nature, and their most outstanding
feature are their awesome coats. They are know as the two for one cat since
they can look completely different in the winter and summer.
The mane on a mature Norwegian Forest cat can
be a spectacular sight, followed closely by the inner ear
hair, which can be as long as 3 - 4 inches, and the tail which
can
be up to 12 inches when completely fanned out. To say the least
the sight of a Norwegian cat is a feast for the eyes.
Not only are they wonderful to look at but their
coats are wonderful to the touch feeling like spun silk. Some
of their colors even change colors from season to season.
The best thing of all is that their long coat
requires very little attention. However, it is highly recommended
that you at least comb out their winter coat in the spring.
Personalities of a Norwegian Forest differ from
cat to cat and have alot to do with the type of home they were
raised in at early kitten hood. They are not "lap cats" but
are great with children and people.
Think Twice If: You
do not like cat hair. They shed their lovely coat heavily every
spring.
